13-Jun-06 Summer Cruising Part 1

Summer Cruising Season!

ImageSummer is finally here and everyone has their cars out!

The vette belongs to Chris, from Green Eggs & RAM, my computer equipment supplier. I believe I've paid for about a quarter of it ;)

It looks really sharp with those big Foose wheels.

He stopped by the other night and gave me a ride. It was my first ride in a Corvette. Yup, I'm serious; it took me 49 years to get a ride in one and Sioux Falls, per capita has the highest number of Corvettes than anywhere in the nation.
ImageKen Jump is currently driving this cute little steel-bodied roadster pickup with a flathead. Cute is the word everyone seems to gravitate to. Ken looks cute driving it too ;)
ImageBodyman Bob Schmeichel drives his "low N fat" `40 Chevy everywhere. He recently had it dyno'd and pegged over 480 foot pounds of torque at 2900 RPM and clocked a top speed of 170.15mph at 5700 rpm in high gear. Go Bob!
ImageMy little brother had his slick `72 Comet at the Veteran’s show. He parked right beside me to steel my thunder – Mom always liked him best! :)
ImageThe T-bucket and `36 Ford belong to our neighbor Buster's grand parents. Hmmm... they drive separate vehicles. That gives me an idea...
ImageLisa (AKA Scooterina) is scared to death riding in Project33. A little tire spin and some fishtailing on launch and she's ready to get out and start walking. Something like this might make a good car for her, with the top speed of a bicycle. I'm not sure her golf clubs will fit though.
