Home Alone 33
I'm a bachelor! Well at least for ten days. That's nine and a half days too long if you ask me. I better kick the bucket before my wife or I'll just be this pathetic old man with no social life, farting away all the hours he has left in his garage.
My wife and our youngest daughter are in New Orleans stripping houses for hurricane Katrina victims. They decided to spend their vacation helping others – pretty cool. That's a great mother/daughter adventure that should include some very important life lessons. I'm staying home to make sure our 19 year old doesn't throw any parties and if she does, that I'm invited.
The trunk is finished! (pretty much)
Dashboard by Karl's built the subwoofer enclosure for Project33. They asked me if I Project33 could attend their car show and sound-off last Saturday. A lot of hours were put in to get the trunk finished before the event, but it's probably the incentive I needed to get down to business.
Finishing the trunk was not without incident. Do you see the small indentation in the panel above the Project `33 embossing? I had the panel out and set it in the doorway of the garage. Our youngest daughter had to get somewhere fast (and dad had to take her) so I unthinkingly hit the door closer. The safety circuit didn't work and I heard a crunch! CRAP! It crushed the door opening in the panel down so far that the top edge of the opening touched the bottom! Right now there's a stiffener screwed to the backside and it was repaired as good as possible. There was no time to rebuild the panel.
The embossed door conceals a small "glove box" that's large enough to hold most cleaning supplies and other items I may want to keep in the car. Embossing is really easy to do and costs zip. I'll show the details later.
