Modifying the A/C Evaporator Part 2 |
round and around and it comes out here.
A box was fashioned using plastic sheeting that you can pick up for model cars at most hobby stores. This is a piece I happened to have on hand from another project several years ago. "Waste not, want not". |
This is the box before it was grafted to the evaporator. The plastic will work great because it doesn't retain moisture. |
The box was grafted to the evaporator using pieces of fiberglass cloth and resin. |
After it setup the new addition was given a coat of trunk splatter paint to help hide the fiberglass cloth and painted black to match the evaporator. This really wasn't necessary but I had the supplies to do it and wanted it to look a little better.
It still looks crude, but it will work fine and no one will ever see it - unless they visit this page. |
| Here's another shot of the modified defroster duct. The unit was slid in place and it was time to start hooking it up! |
